Maya Womb Massage (Wise Womb Massage) 

Maya womb massage is a truly holistic modality which addresses the physical position of the abdominal and reproductive organs.  The womb is a suspensory organ and can easily move out of optimal position, thus effecting the reproductive and digestive health. This modality also looks at restoring health through nutritional therapy, holistic cleansing, breath work, self care, botanical medicines, lifestyle adjustments, spiritual healing and supportive emotional release. This work is specific for women suffering from any symptoms associated with their menstrual cycle, and digestive health. It is also indicated for fertility concerns, IUI, IVF and throughout pregnancy, supporting women of all ages from preconception to menopause.

 

Holistic Pelvic Massage 

Using a gentle intervaginal massage technique combined with restorative breath work tools, we work to realign your pelvis both physically and energetically. This process, for all stages of a woman’s life, enhances the flow of pelvic organ energy and restores your pelvic bowl as the creative center of your female body.

Wise Womb – Pregnancy

First Trimester – We focus more on softening the back muscles, using plant prayers, supporting the emotional and spiritual aspects of the mother to be. It is contra-indicated to apply pressure to the womb area of the belly during this stage of pregnancy, so, rather than working directly on the womb, I apply light pressure into the spaces around the womb, gently coaxing her to be in optimal alignment. During this stage we can support the mother-to-be to relax, to breathe, and to connect to the spirit of the baby growing in her womb.

Second Trimester – In this stage we begin to work more directly with the womb, lower back, hips and pelvis, keeping them in optimal position for carrying in a more comfortable way (less acid reflux, less edema, less pain). We also work continuing to connect with the spirit of the growing baby, as well as supporting the woman through this initiation into motherhood. Using all of my many modalities throughout this stage is very supportive for the mother-to-be, holding her in sacred space, to feel supported, loved, revered and honored.

Third Trimester – In this stage of pregnancy we work directly with the womb and the sacrum, hips, pelvis and lower back, ensuring the womb is in optimal position at this stage is very important for an ease of carrying, with more comfort through the last stage of pregnancy as well as for the birthing experience. Ceremony comes in more deeply towards the end of this stage, preparing the mother’s spirit and body for labor. I see you as a whole being, rather than the sum of your parts, so throughout pregnancy we will check in around the whole that is you and your life, including; nutrition, self-care, and emotional/spiritual well being. I am also happy to lead a ceremonial blessing for the mother-to-be with family and friends and also offer a blessing ceremony in their home before the birth.

Post Partum – It is also important for this technique to be applied post partum to help coax the womb back into alignment and to support the healing of tissue. When dealing with a C-Section I prefer to wait 6 weeks, but not longer, unless there is an infection present, with a natural birth I prefer to wait 4 weeks.

Hawaiin Lomilomi

Lomi lomi is a traditional Hawaiian massage that uses a combination of massage techniques, nut oils, and sometimes elements of prayer, breathing and dance, to restore energy and soothe the body. It is also known as the ‘loving hands’ massage. This name helps to explain its principles – the massage works gently, yet deeply into the muscles with continuous, flowing strokes, allowing the recipient to relax and give in to the nurturing touch.

Lomi lomi works from the belief that memories are not just stored in the brain/mind, but also in every cell of the human body. The long, continuous strokes of the massage are designed to help the body let go of its old patterns and behaviors, which can cause as many stresses and strains as muscle tension.

 

Craniosacral

This modality uses a very soft, yet profound touch, and focuses on releasing restrictions within the bones of the skull and the cerebral spinal fluid to improve the function of the central nervous system. Cerebrospinal fluid nourishes the brain and spinal cord, when it flows correctly other bodily processes are able to function more efficiently, thereby reducing pain and dysfunction, and helping to improve overall quality of life. CranioSacral work helps to quiet the mind, soften the muscle tissue, and release emotional blocks. CranioSacral therapy is therefore indicated for Infants, Children, Adolescents, Adults and Animals.

 

SomatoEmotional Release | Hakomi

This process is combined with massage and craiosacral therapy, it is process of gentle inquiry to see what is happening on the soul level. Held in loving presence, you are asked a series of questions to gently guide you to the places where the energy is stuck in the body. Through this process these areas of tension, pain or stored trauma are released and healing can then take place.

 

Reiki

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote quicker recovery.

 

Botanical Bodywork

This earth-centered approach promotes spiritual, emotional and physical well-being. It is also deeply restorative and nourishing to your nervous system. This work weaves many earth centered healing modalities together with your intention to inspire deep healing. It works to clear anything that isn’t you, in essence, to make space for all that is you, integrating mind, spirit and body into presence with one another. This treatment can also be effective in healing spiritual or emotional dis-ease, clearing the emotions and trauma stored in the body, including grief, anger, fear, anxiety, depression, and many other emotional/spiritual dis-eases.

 

Ayurvedic Marma Massage

Ayurvedic Marma Massage focuses on moving the energy through fast or slow strokes depending on the type of individual, and uses heated massage oils that have been blended with specific essential oils to inspire balance in the body, mind and spirit. This is not a deep tissue massage, but can be either relaxing or invigorating depending on your individual constitution.

 

Lymphatic Massage

The lymphatic system cleanses toxins from the body, drains excess fluids, and helps maintain a healthy immune system. Poor lymphatic circulation (caused by surgery, trauma, infection, stress, diet, etc.) can result in a range of related pains, discomfort, sluggishness, and lethargy, as well as many other medical conditions.  By stimulating the lymphatic fluids, we kick-start the immune system, and give balance to the body’s autonomic nervous system. This profound, and absolutely non-invasive, hands on healing technique is relaxing, gentle, and completely imperative in contributing to the overall health of your body.

 

Somatic Movement

Finding presence through breath and gentle movements allows for profound internal body awareness. This modality teaches recognition and release of chronic pain patterns resulting from injury, stress, repetitive motion strain or habituated postures. Through gentle slow assisted movements we work to connect breath with body and reprogram the sensory motor cortex of the brain, re-establishing congruent communication between the brain, the nervous system and the muscles to gently unwind holding patterns in the body, replacing them with healthy new patterns.
